Projects

Overview

Here are some of the projects I have worked heavily on, both at Base Camp and on the side

Python

Tetris

This is a game of tetris programmed using python tkinter. It started out as a shell our teacher wrote, then we had to make it work as well as provide additional features.

Python Final

This is a simulated rental-store application that runs in the terminal. It has both an employee mode and a customer mode where the employee mode allows users to check stock, revenue and transactions and the customer mode allows users to rent and return costumes.

Front-end (HTML/CSS/Javascript)

Front-end Final

This project uses the languages HTML, CSS, and Javascript as well as Bootstrap frameworking and Handlebars templating to create a web based rental store. It allows users to rent items after filling out a contact form which has to be validated. Then, a receipt is shown to the user and the transaction is finished.

Github Projects Remake

For these assignments we were tasked to recreate multiple portions of github using only bootstrap, css, and html. Then we later combined the portions to emulate an entire github page.

About Me

Logan

Backstory

I was born in 2000 in Daytona Beach, FL but I was raised in Mississippi. Growing up, my parents took education very seriously (one was an Assistant Principal the other a Higher Education Administrator) and wanted me to do the same. During my tenure in school, I focused heavily on my classes and extracurricular activities, mainly Marine Corps JROTC and Band. In the middle of my senior year, I knew I wanted to go to college, but I didn't have an idea of how to spend my time. Rather than wasting tens of thousands of dollars simply trying to decide which path to choose, I decided to pursue a definite interest first, programming. My eyes have been on computer programming since fourth grade when I learned to program small robots to complete certain tasks. For a while, I didn't think how this skill set could be applied aside from making video games and more efficient Roombas, so I pushed it to the back of my mind. My interest peaked again after taking an Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles course and programming became a real option. I began to consider majoring in computer science, as well as Biomedical engineering. Considering that Base Camp prepares you for the developer workforce just as a degree in computer science does, I decided that Base Camp Coding Academy would be the better option for turning my passion in computing into a real career opportunity.

Future Plans

Because I still hold an interest in Biomedical engineering, my long-term plans are to attend college to pursue this degree. But first, I would like to work in the computing field using the skills I gained from Base Camp. Ultimately, I would like to combine my coding experience with a biomedical degree in order to expand my research and make myself more valuable to companies specializing in medical technology.

Extras

I enjoy listening to music, playing my trombone and tinkering on the keyboard, playing video games and reading. In addition to wanting to major in biomedial engineering and to start my development career, I also aspire to be a voice actor.
